Weather in Slovakia

The Slovak climate belongs to the continental climatic zone, with relatively warm summers and colder, snow rich winters. However, there is a relatively big climate difference between lowlands and mountains and the temperature differences might be significant. Summers are usually quite warm, with highest tmeperatures over 30 oC (July and August), winters mostly with temperatures below 0 oC (December through February).
The southern part of Slovakia, built mostly on lowlands, shows through the year higher average temperatures than the mountainous north.
